anyone been to Northstar MTB park?
buddy & I have been talking about doing a trip up there...they have a $59/pp for room & all day lift ticket for two...
seems like a good deal.
i don't do huge hucks and DH but dig cool XC riding...wondering if anyone has some experience w/ the park...
i found their map but it doesn't show what's XC and what's not...(some of it is obvious)

I've been there but it was like 4 years ago. I had a lot of fun doing the trails. I'm not sure what they have as far as XC. You can just go ride around, it's pretty big. You should be able to call someone up there and get more info.
Was there last year and year before. "Sticks & Stones" has a lot of technical stuff like table tops, drops into hairpin turns, log drops, etc. For XC stuff, I think trails like...
"Flameout", "The Woods", "Meander" are fun with a good amount of switchback turns. Haven't been there yet this year...they might have switched things up.
GET OUT AND RIDE!!!

maybe we can get a whole crew up there...
this is what i was thinking would be cool....
since you don't need a lift pass to ride the base trails (mainly XC around the lodge area and up to the base of the big lifts) we could get up there at a decent hour...
check in on the $59/pp deal, unload and go ride XC for the afternoon, have a good dinner and chill that night, then get up the next day and hit the lifts w/ the included lift passes and do all the bigger runs that day...
yeah i read some good reviews on MBTR.com and everyone seemed to like Flameout(?)...also, think sticks & stones is a must try...sounds tech.
i dig super tech XC where you're constantly having to think...(i.e. beginning of Salmon Falls & most of the back side of Sly Park loop)
i also found directions to Mr. Toad's Wide Ride off 89...thinking of trying to get up there sometime soon as well...sounds like fun too.
i'll keep my eyes peeled for a MTB ride thread in the "meats and events" forum.

Let me talk to Josey but I'd think third weekend would be the best. We get married on the 17th
Actually, since they close up on Oct 9 (I think) and the wedding is next month, I may not be able to go.
