Anyone attending any local Community Colleges wanted to get an idea on costs?

Wanted to get an average on cost per unit and avg in text books for a full semester? Down here it appears to be an average of about $900-1200 a semester.

Also any opinions on those colleges etc. (sierra, sac city, american river, consumnes) . I'm not entirely set on a major yet but trying to at least guage somethings.

I pay $130 for about 4.5 or 5 units at FLC. Books, well, about 100-150 per class I guess? I'm just taking classes for fun, so probably no useful opinion for you. (ie I don't talk to any counselors, etc)

I took a summer class at Sac City and it ended up being about $100 +$50 for the book. It was $15 for a parking pass, though I would assume that it would be more during the semester.

i believe its $26 per unit, $30 parking pass, and books will vary. It should be within your price range if your going full time. I went to ARC for a year and the only reason i would recommend that one over all the others is because of size and the more variety and chances of getting into classes. If you compared the classes to other community colleges around, ARC owns them all. ARC consists of 31,000+ students and makes it i think 11th biggest in the nation. Im moving so im gonna attend FLC next semester. That school has nothing

I'm old it really wasn't that long ago, when my wife started it was 11 too, she's only 23 so that is over a hundred% increase in only like five years.

When I started, it was $6 per unit, maximum $60 charge no matter how many units you had. That's old.

there are ways to cut costs, like buying used books NOT from the bookstore, like not buying parking permit and either taking mass transit or just parking somewhere, and other jizz like that.

might want to apply for fafsa if you are really interested in school

VA is awesome.
if i didnt have VA i woudlnt be going to davis ha ha.

just visit the VA affairs office at teh community college you are interested.
everything should be paid for except maybe books and parking permits... although you might be entitled to them as well.

just stop by the office and get the paperwork, and i suggest you hurry because mine is due in sept, but my cousin who goes to sac city is due in like 2 weeks (when school starts)
