1999 Wrx
the donor car was an 04 wrx. as far as time, well.. the engine and trans was a snap. the time consuming part was of course the wiring. i used the bulk head harness out the 04. this kept all ecm wiring untouched. i mated the instrument, door cords, and rear harness to 99 harness. this took hours. i would like to tell you it took somewhere between 10 and 20 hours. (ball park) im sure the next one will be faster. all the evap system functions to OBD II standards for 04 model. had to add one control solonoid in system. subaru has kept it simple from year to year. it has been a fun project.

awesome another swapped RS! I'm not alone in the region
Did you stick with the stock RS drivetrain? Thankfully my transmission has held up well since 20k (when the swap was done) and now has 131k on it. The gearing is crazy fun for that motor
