I'm not sure, but go check out www.awdpirates.net. There are a bunch of CO people over there who can probably help you out.

While you're here, you should hang around and join us in the local RM forum!

Just a pointer: stay away from Suby repair/tarmac. They have very high prices and the upper management is a pain in the *** to work with. If you can wait a few weeks, wait for 5280 motorsports to open in north denver. It is started by Joe *** who has been tuning subys around here forever, and is a great guy. Just my .02

I had this same question, not just Boulder area but Colorado in general.

I just returned from CO on Wednesday, got married out there over the weekend. My wife (wierd to say) is actually from Erie. I lived in CO for 5 years, since we've been gone things are growing like crazy. I was looking through local phone books for Subaru Performance Shops, couldn't find much.

I remember the days of JC Sports, looks like the *** family is taking another shot at it.

I'm not quite sure how it is out there with modded Suby's, out here in CA is crazy. I would think there would be many out in CO, but the majority seemed to be stock. But then again most of them are Outbacks and are more practical.

I was in Steamboat for a couple days and I swear that over 60% of the cars are Subaru's, I couldn't get over it. I don't remember that many when I lived there, but then again that was in '97 when Subaru's weren't as popular

Congratulations on getting married! )

Yeah, Subaru's definately are one of the most popular brands here.

JC Sports: I wasn't around here back then, but I heard nothing but bad things about them, though I didn't know it was run by the ***'s. Hopefully this new venture won't turn out like JC.

Things definately have grown around here, especally up north in the Erie area. I love Colorado, but this sprawl is starting to get old.

Thanks Jeff

Yeah the ***'s have had quite a few ventures, I believe 5280 will be third since JCS. They did some good things back in the day, but apparently customer service wasn't one of them. I was involved in their turbo kit group buy that brought them down. I was one of the fortunate ones to actually receive my kit, but it did take 10 months. And it still runs today, it's currently on my brothers MY98 GT.

As for sprawl, I'm sure it's getting old, where do all those people work? Seems like all the building going on is too much, too fast. I know her family feels the same way you do. But it does make it appealling to us CA folk where prices are astronomical. Median home values in our area are $917,000. Impossible for most people starting out to own a home. With that said maybe you'll see us in CO sometime in the near future.

Joe is a nice guy, but anything the **** touch seems to go down in flames. 5280 will be at least the third, if not the 4th *** business.

Super Rupair has Harvey working there now. They offer ECUtek tuning, and have performance parts in stock. I suggest going there. Flatirons in Boulder also has performance parts in stock, but not much in the way of installs.

I hear Checkpoint Racing down in Denver kicks ***. I guess they have a lot of experience with subarus and carry a lot of stuff. You should call them. I think the number might be 303-296-3030

Hi there, I am Harvey, and I have had the pleasure of working with Joseph at Tarmac. But he left us to go on to bigger things.

We feature a Dyno Dynamics AWD Dyno. Lately I have been installing FMICs, turbos, and large injectors in many many different WRXes and STis. I have been tuning for months and just hit my 20th tune. I specialize in the ECUTek reflash but have done some UTEC and SAFC type stuff.

I don't know about previous experiences with upper management, but I know we rock!

I still advocate Joseph for many projects such as custom turbo builds. I have even tuned one of his new partner's STi. 5280 and MAC are both cool in my book.

I think I am a great dedicated dyno tuner with training and certifications. In fact we will be hosting a class for EFI101.com soon next year. I am dedicated to my customers and making them happy. Tuning cars professionally is my life's dream and I have been doing so with muscle cars since I was 13. My Wagon has run a 12.6 at 110 with a 50 shot and a 13.0 at 106 on 91 octane at Bandi.

Come check us out anyhow, whether you decide to work with us or not, it is worth a look, we have a shop race car that is a work in progress and many of us there are into building up our own Subies. I also own a restaurant in Boulder, but cars are my dream. I like to cruise and drag race at the strip as well as ice race in the winter time.

Cheers and happy holidays!
