Colorado Cold Air

Hey everyone, I know my location says El Paso, but that's temporary. I will be back to my home town of Denver in about a month. I was wondering how many of you are running CAI's and how they work in the winter months. I'm concerned with water and slush building up and freezing around the filter and jacking things up. I just want to make sure that the car I bought for year around use can still be use year around. Thanks, to both of you who will read this.

It doesn't get as cold here as you think. Especially in Denver. I've never heard of slush/ice freezing on a CAI. What kind of car are we talking about? Do you already have the CAI on there?

It's an 05 RS and I don't have the intake yet. I grew up in Denver, I've only been away for two years now. I'll be back tomorrow.

I have a 97 OBS with a CAI and live in Grand Junction CO, close enough? I also have a little hood scoop I built to replace the right side hood vent as well as an air dam to keep engine heat away from the filter. I don't have problems with snow or rain getting on the filter. After running the engine out in this cold a$$ weather, I can reach in and touch the filter or the MAF and it's cold as ice so I know the scoop and air dam are doing their jobs. I also have the cover under the hood scoop off so the cold air coming in cools off my throttle body and intake tube. I was running this set up during the summer too and it made a sizeable difference in power.
