yeah, laguna seca now has mobile mics on the INSIDE of the track, meaning turning the exhaust output to the inside of the track might not help you. I thought I had posted that in the other thread

Do silencers really affect performance that much?

you did.

but i can't get my hands on a quieter exhaust before then.

so i figure i will give this a shot.

silencers don't really affect performance i don't think.

i am bringing one and using it as a last resort because i absolutely HATE the way they sound.

im guna try it this way first and hope they don't black flag me =)

put the silencer in (if you have one, or can borrow one) and then get on the freeway and see how it performs

Can I ask why a track would have a sound decibel limit?? I have never understood that.. I have never heard an exhaust that was so loud it shouldn't be aloud on a track.. well at least on car's that people daily drive.

houses surrounding it. I've lived miles and miles away majority of my life, but on big race event days I can hear the drone of the cars (fainly, and I don't mind it) but some rich idiots decided to build their houses right up against the track. When people with money complain, people wanting money listen. Theres also lower income housing closer than I have lived that don't want to be disturbed either

the people that live near that track are whiners. they only allow the track to make mondo noise so many days out of the year.

its not x number of days out of the year, the big events just pre-pay the fines

honestly, the loudest thing I hear is the christian "rock" festival

call performance muffler in fremont. the guy there, i think his name is randy, does custom fab and welding stuff. he might have 4.5 inch piping. i got my 3" flange welded there and he has great skills. plus the guys next door have a bunch of 510s and the owner drives a nice yellow bugeye.

lol... the yellow bugeye is Clayton's, a customer of troy's. (thats the guy that owns the 510 shop) Randy does do great work, but unfortunately he isn't there anymore. The new guys name is chris. He is good too,m but not as good as randy was, and he can be a bit flakey. So plan ahead.
