Good AutoX Rotors?
Good AutoX Rotors?
So the time has come for some new pads and rotors. I'm going to try the Axis Ultimate pads this time but I'm not sure about Rotors.
I'd like something lighter than stock if possible and I don't mind paying a bit more for quality parts..The only thing I want to avoid is slotted rotors because I hear they wear out your pads a lot quicker..
Any thoughts?

I didn't get much of a response from the i-club crowd, but having chatted to a few seasoned drivers and read a few threads on 'the other place' it seems that you can't go wrong with a set of cryo treated brembo blanks...that's what I'm going for.
Was thinking about trying some different pads, but the Porterfield ones I'm running now have impressed me so much I'm gonna stick with them...track days, AuotX, street...they are excellent in all conditions.

I would really like to get something that is set-it-and-forget-it. I've looked around in terms of prices. Brembo blanks run about $100 a pair, $160 for slotted, $200 for Stoptech slotted, and $270 for DBA rotors. I guess it really depends on how much money I want to spend.

I talked to Greg@GST and he recommended the Centric Slotted rotors and Porterfield R4-S. I am going to do my research. For me, just looking for something that is well priced.
Ask around at BA Autocross forums.
Cryo is a rip off, NOT worth is.
Slotted is EXTREMELY important, because it gives you a brake pad that is Always ready for action... No glaze, no hot spots on the rotors, clean pads, and pads that work every time. They will not wear out much faster, only slightly so.
Only way to go lighter is 2 piece, but that's much more expensive.
Think Performance Glen, not endurance!
For Axxis Ultimates (which is what I've ran for about 4 years now), I would recommend Centric, DBA or Power Slot rotors. and Don't skimp out on the slotted, it's worth it. But don't get Cross drilled, not really worth it for what you are doing.

Porterfields work well with Brembo Rotors.
Brembo told me that the Axxis ultimates don't seem to bite well into the their rotors. I've used Centric and DBA, and it's been great.
