15's??

Also, if you're going to think about a 15" for the WRX (ie: Compomotive), remember to verify the load rating of the tire you're going to use. Not many 15" tires are made to handle the 3K weight of a WRX under high load. This is also another big reason to go 16", with just a lower profile.

A very good point, and one I had overlooked. After looking into this, I've decided that the 15" wheel idea would be more trouble than its worth for doing auto-x events.

At first glance it sounded good - use smaller wheels to keep the revs up and bring the turbo into play. Then I found that the only wheels that had an offset that even approached the correct amount are just slightly out of my price range. So, I'm going with KC's advice and get lower profile tires.

This thread looks like it would be right at home in the tires & wheels forum...
