Should Special Ed get an STI or Legacy GT?
Since the plastic cam gears gave way
He should replace the car with more horsepower higher displacement for more stress on the cam gears
So which shall it be?
BTW he is getting old

there is a TSB on the timing belt tensioner bracket.

Hey Special Ed
Where did the people who installed your motor get it from and was it a complete replacement or was it a rebuild?
Also it sounds like your original motor suffered from the same problem.
Make / Models : Model/Build Years:
Subaru / Baja 2004
Subaru / Forester 2004
Subaru / Impreza 2004
MANUFACTURER: Subaru of America, Inc.
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 04V473000 Recall Date : SEP 27, 2004

Dealers will inspect and retighten the oil-flow control valve cover bolts. The recall began on October 8, 2004. Owners should contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783.
