WRC tarmac tire????
I knew I saw it somewhere. In the Germany newsletter they stated that they use 225/650-18. I'm not sure if thats a typo, and they meant 225/65-18 or if the second number is an exact number instead of a ratio (like it usually is).
Rally Deutschland SWRT Newsletter
EDIT: Thinking about it some more, I think that the 650 might be the exact height rather then a typo on the ratio.

Affirmative, the 225/650/18 is a real sizing, as opposed to a ratio sizing (referring to height)
Most street tires are done with ratios, but when you need to be precise for gearing or clearance, you need to know the actual sizing, In this case, the section width would be 225 like you would expect, and the 650 refers to the OD, translating to roughly 25.5 inches, which is about right for an 18" to still get some rim protection for the crap tarmac cars go over.

Thanks guy's. Also do they make that for street use? 25.5" od what would come close to that in street tires? Im currently running 2002 WRX Sedan on my old 99RS stocks. I have 18 OZ superlageras on Toyo's all-weather 225/40/18 .But last year in LA during a brief rain Storm (StormWatch 03). I hit a hidden pot hole full of water, and bent one of my rims. I recently got it fixed, So now Im debating wether on not to put bigger rubber on my car. I dont care for the speedometer reading in being off a little. I just dont want to bend another rim or worry about potholes or slowing down.
I'd bet in street tire form they are probably close to 225/40/18 or 225/45/18. The tires are Pirelli P-Zeros, and there are many consumer/street versions of these tires available.

650mm = 25.6 inches
225/45/18 tires has outer diameter of 26 inches.
225/40/18 has outer diameter of 25.1 inches
why do you want to have the same size tire as the wrc cars?
the 225/40/18 tire would be a better fit on a wrx as the stock tire size O.D. is 24.9 inches

I commute on the 10 Fwy everyday. The road isn't in the best condition. So I figure if I get enough meat between the rim and the road surface. I will prevent damaging my rims. Potholes mainly. I was using 225/40/18 before. In a perfect world I would change lanes and avoid hitting potholes but in LA you dont have that luxury. It seem like cars in LA, even when you signal they either close the gap so you can't get over. It all about being a defensive driver. I figure if I go 225/45/18 I might save my rims. The plus side is I will have more sidewall for cornering purposes and the ride should be smoother.

Here are the Silverstone Tarmac tires
As shown these are 195-590-15's (very short, not too wide, 15" tarmac tire).
These lower my rally car and give HUGE acceleration on short, tarmac stages. They are the ultra soft compound and go away after 3-4 continous laps at a track like PIR (1.9 miles). These ones got overheated when I did a bunch of laps at the "Taste of Subaru 2002". You can see the rubber all across the tread...
I did use those exact same tires a month ago, bolting them onto my bone stock 2002 TS Wagon and took second fastest PAX time at a local autocross... (using the G-Stock factor).
They are available from Tabor Rally Team or from Primitive. There is also a larger 15" size available and harder compounds (but not huge 18" or 19" versions).
