no, that bumper is held on securly at this point.

j/k the force of the car hitting the water and the water coming around and hitting the back of the bumper broke it off on both sides of the car, i think it was replaced or removed at the next stage

well, thats pretty damn expensive. and it cant hold up to 5000lbs. worth of water pushing on the outer edges? what a rip

Yep, hand laid carbon fiber, quite a few bits on the car are. It is actually strong enough to support the weight of the car, just not a sever thrashing like landing the many yumps they probably had before the water crossing. They get destroyed almost every race.

great pic by the way. Remenber last year when a fan brought a broken bumper up to Gronholm and asked him to sign it? He was nice enough to do so just before he told the fan that he would have to return it. big money on those body panels

I say if a fan is gonna fish out and carry around a bumper or body panel the least they could do is let you hold on to it.
