November's Photography Assignment: Time
I apologize for the late posting of the assignment. I debated not doing them anymore due to dwindling input, but people (err, person) have been asking me where the thread is, and I said I'd do them through December.
November's Theme: Time
This can be anything that, to you, represents time.
Ideas to get you thinking:
Rules:
Ending Date: November 30th
This isn't a competition, just a themed assignment for those who wish to participate. The only reason there is a due date is to keep the thread from going on and on. Feel free to PM me with options for other themes.
Constructive Criticism
The point of limiting criticism to Constructive Criticism to to keep people from just going "wow, your photo sucks" without offering a means for improvement. You could go "The composition just isn't doing it for me, maybe try moving the subjects face to the left a few inches." It would also nice and helps people receive CC better if you balance a negative with a positive such as "Well the lighting is nice, but the composition just isn't doing it for me, maybe try moving the subjects face to the left a few inches." or "I like the composition overall, but the busy background distracts me from the subject's face.'
November's Theme: Time
This can be anything that, to you, represents time.
Ideas to get you thinking:
- the passage of time
- the lack of passage of time
- something that is timeless
- representation of the past
Rules:
- Photo has to be taken within the given month
- Photo must be your own work
- Please only submit ONE photo per assignment
- If possible please post all the photo info such as lens, f/ stop, shutter speed, etc.
- All photos are open to C&C unless otherwise noted by poster
- No photoshopping/computer enhancement (except for frame/signature)

oh sweet!! My 40D is just sitting in the closet collecting dust. I'm a UberN00ber and have been looking for stuff like like this to give me a little direction and get me out there to shoot stuff. Been trying to into photography, however, most of the time I just stand there with my camera not knowing what the heck to shoot that would be worth while..
Cool thread! must participate!

Alrighty, Time.
My brother was the assistant to a former city supervisor/former SF mayor candidate. My bro died suddenly in September of 2002, and they closed sessions of city hall for a day when he died. This is the letter they sent me, sitting on a dusty table, next to a broken hourglass. To me this pic was a pretty good representation of 'time' on a lot of levels; I hope you guys like it.
I realize you can see some personal info in there, but I haven't lived at that address for a really long time, so any attempts at stalking me will be useless.

BTW, everyone needs to go and check out my hummingbird pics in the bay area photographer's thread-in this same forum-in case ya didn't know I am more proud of the pics I just posted there than any others I've ever taken. I debated posting one of those here, but decided to use the above pic instead and just post the whole lot of them in the other thread.
