Cannonball...err, Roadtrip
I'll let the pics do most of the storytelling, but I sold an SVX for a friend who was going to "retire" the vehicle to the crusher. The delivery of said vehicle was the problem - it had to make it to Iowa. Thankfully the buyer has relatives in Omaha, NE where we agreed to meet up. Friday ~noon, I left town headed for delivery of the vehicle.

In Reno by ~4pm

Dinner in Lovelock, NV ~7pm

Open road - traveling ~80mph

Salt Lake City - Capitol Building ~4:30am

LDS Tabernacle - but don't try to get into the compound

Entering Wyoming ~6am (PDT)

Green River rest stop

Backdrop in Wyoming

Entering Nebraska - last state to cross!! ~noon (PDT)

Sunset over Lincoln, NE

Building in downtown Omaha, NE ~midnight

Horse-drawn carriages through downtown

Composite image of a business sign - popular party restaurant

Another historic building in downtown

Don't you wish YOU had a road like this?

Flying home - total trip <48 hours

No, all SVX's are automatic. There are owners who have done 5 and 6 speed conversions, however this was not one of them.
BTW, anyone ever seen 421 miles on a single tank of gas WITHOUT the fuel light ever coming on?
I have.

Un-tweaked, mileage was reset at previous fuel stop in Wyoming.

Wow the memories, I drove most of that a few weeks ago, took a right at Cheyenne, my light in my WRX came on at 408. I filled up in Winnemucca, NV and again in Evanston, WY...... 434 miles in 14.2 gallons cruise control at 83 except around SLC (damn Utah cops, I HATE them) at night so no AC.

Cotati, CA - start of trip
Lovelock, NV - 13.008 gal.
Wendover, NV - 13.96 gal.
Rock Springs, WY - 12.68 gal.
Chappell, NE - 13.75 gal.
Omaha, NE - new owner filled up somewhere after 400 mi.
Speed was kept between 80-90 most of the time, with short stints up to umm, well - suffice it to say fast enough to keep the trucks from running over me.
