i've been meaning to pick up a tripod for better night and landscape shots.

so true, that's my only fear about doing film photos, but hey, when we gonna test that 4x5 out in carmel valley?!?!?!

I am talking about bouncing or "reflecting" a strobe off of a sheet of metal or something so you could tune the beam/reflection etc.

Hey Joe - awesome pics as usual, the one above is exactly the type of automotive shots I want to be able to do. The car is in perfect focus, the whole pic is framed really nice and everything else is creamy blurred. Seriously nice work.

Do you find it best to get out there in the early hours or later in the evening? Seems like the morning light is pretty stellar. I was thinking of getting out for some shots tomorrow morning maybe - if I can get out of bed in time, I will head up and look for that area or maybe hit up TI. Also wanted to get some night shots of SF and such.

As always thanks for sharing your work!

Mynikonlens and suby dude, both of you have AMAZING pictures good job.
I love the car pictures u took suby dude, worth waking up early haha.
I went on drive 2 days ago pretty early just around tomales and totally random roads that are hidden near the water, didn't know where i was sometimes but it was fun drive and took a few ok pics....
This is from a random pullout i saw, i liked the crack in the ground. used photomatix which is made for hdr, but i only had 1 image, and i got it to look like this so im happy.

This is a panoramic i made out of 3 pictures, perfect reflection of the hills and farm on the water. no photoshop really on this, couldve made color abit better but oh well.

Another panoramic out of 3 pictures, just liked the mountians and fence.

Another one of my smoke photos.. put a color background for first time...

yes there is a spot for your car, like some pull offs, BUT there might be other cars there, it matters what day and time you got.. weekdays are pretty empty i think, or just really early like u did your other shots.

And thanks everyone for liking my pics
