thats it, I want the Sony A700. They've gone to a CMOS sensor and have supposedly greatly reduced the high-ISO noise.

Who wants to give me $1k?

 

point and shoot...I will get sony, as of DSLR...either canon or nikon, and you won't go wrong.

sony won't be able to catch up with canon and nikon, even when they come out with the A5000...it a long way for them.

actually I love my Sony A100 except for the high-ISO noise. I love people that assume a company entering into a market (DSLR market in this case as opposed to their current stake in the digital PP market) must be crap. When Canon came into the SLR market, they had no reputation in the market. When Nikon came into the SLR market, they had no reputation. So unless you have some extensive knowledge comparing all nikons vs all canons vs all sonys, I'd steer clear of the generalizations.
