amateur photographer
currently in the market to buy a camera for recreational purposes. budget is about 800-1k. i'm not a pro but have been taking pictures for a while and would like a better camera to play with lol. any suggestions?

I recommend the D90 for that price range, very crisp pictures and has a built in motor in the body so you dont have to worry about getting auto focusing lenses.

sub'ed... I shoot a D40x (not the greatest by far) but it was cheap and takes great shots imo... Gives you some wiggle room for lenses/filters and whatnot...

I'm still a n00b when it comes to dslrs but I'd suggest buying a good lens for now and buy a used dslr body. A good lens will last you a while and you can still use it with a different body. Practice technique and learning to use your camera first, at least thats what I'm trying to do

Canon 50d is a good starter. The 60d looses the mag body but you do get a swivel LCD screen.
If you do get one of those cameras get a 17-55 lens. Good starter
