who races a mr2 in club rally
I was woundering if you could tell me about all the expensise involved in preparing the car and ralling it.
Like the cost of tire, roll cage, racing seats and event entry fee's as well as up keep of the car. And why you choose to race the mr2 as opposed to other cars. Are replacment parts expensive.
p.s what would you do differently if you had to do it all over again.
Thanks any help would be great.

Ok now I'm wondering what makes you think that a Mr. 2 driving rally car guy is on this board?
Figure:
tires ~$100 each (or cheaper if you can find the right size used)
seats ~ aluminum drag seats will work for ~$150 each, or real seats for ~$400 each plus mounts, etc.
cage - the MR2 is tiny, so probably cheaper than a Subaru, so I'm going to guess that to have one installed will still run you ~$1500+
odometer ~2-300
safety gear 200
helmet 300?
suit another 300?
gloves, shoes...
plus the decal kit from SCCA
decent suspension is going to be at LEAST another $1000-2500 (or use the stock stuff and buy a ton of spares + welder)
If you're still interested, read up on the rules as far as what you need/can-can't do, etc.
You'll find links to all of the events on one of these places:

the only reason that I asked on this board is because this weeken I met some one at a oregon rally cross.
But I can't remember her name (I'm so bad with name's, sorry)
What about all the same question but with a subaru of some kind. I'll proably be looking at an impreza.

On this board, that would be Sunnynw, she's the co-driver for that MR2 (i'm guessing you're talking about the silverish one with the black triangle painted on the hood?).

No, jamie didn't build either of her cars, Dave Clark did. Lets give credit where credit is due.
Different people charge different prices. depending on what style cage you want, prices from various shops will vary by hundreds.

... and why would she even know how much it costs, it's not like it's coming out of her pocket[/drama]

Who put up (or found) the money? Not Dave. Yes, he'd know exactly how much he spent on the cage, and the suspension, and he'd probably know the costs for everything else, but those were her cars.
I certainly didn't do the labor of building my mustang's motor, but I'm the one with the receipts and title. I'm the one who decided exactly what was going to be used, and when it was going to be done. If somebody asked who built my Mustang, (First I'd laugh at them as it's the opposite of built) I'd say that I built the car. But Meridian Performance built the motor.
I have a suggestion: Why not give the Jamie-hating a rest? All it does is make you look like a bitter fool. I couldn't care less what you think of her, but the constant whining and complaining is tiring. Why can't you just let it go?

If you can find people to give you huge discounts like sponsors, or have a bunch of freinds that would all like the chance to get in your pants and help you do the labor and get stuff it could bring the real cost way down.
How do you look? How big is your unit?
I would say start out small and if you are good at driving than you might be able to get some sponsors.

As someone elequenty put it: "She is a fraud and uses people for her own gain by acting the part of the fragile female."
She's a fk'ing Con, and just because she has a slippery hole festering between her "fragile" thighs, people do anything for her, it's sickening and pathetic.
Feel free to defend her all you want... just feel greatful she has not found your achillies heel and sucked the life out of you, yet.

Ouch! public voice by a vendor in un-official capacity
Makes ya wonder.
I'm still waiting for my written apology.
