The Post & Reviews Are In On The 1st 'SOIC Greensprings Drive':

“The meet was beyond amazing!” (inky07 @ Club WRX) Grants Pass, OR
“Coming down from Portland i wasnt really sure what to expect, but I am speachless trying to describe how this drive was. That road was by far the funnest and most insane road I have ever driven!” (D-Rhett @ IWSTI) Portland, OR
“Can’t stop thinking about what an awesome drive that was. Not only were the roads and scenery spectacular, everyone at the meet was super friendly. If you were not able to attend this last meet, than you should plan on coming in October…” (jung187 @ IWSTI) Eugene, OR

Announcement!
Announcing The 'SOIC Greensprings ll Drive' ~ October 12th!
My tires had barely cooled when the e-mails and text started pouring in asking for another run before the weather locks us out! All the Portland gang is coming back down and they promise to do a full-out recruitment for more cars to head down with them to Southern Oregon for 'Greensprings ll'.
I have 23 cars signed up already and the announcement barely hit the boards. This one could be BIG! We have the momentum and the recent memories from the drive last week to push us along. So, drop me an e-mail, or a quick PM to RSVP for the October run. I will keep the list current and the details complete.
We will again meet at SOSVM @ 10:30 AM on Sunday, October 12th. Places to sleep won't be a problem for those who have a long drive ahead of them to get here for the 'Mucho Gusto' dinner and Saturday night 'Meet & Greet'.
Check this link for current details. See you all there!

Overnight Digs Are Available!
For those of you who may be facing a long drive (NorCal & Portland) we will have rooms (and floor space available) for all who show up. I was able to have everyone stay with me @ 'Casa Miguel's' last run (and far too much beer was consumed on Saturday night on my deck!).
But, Jeff has also offered overnight stays on Saturday night at his place as well. So, now you know you even have a place to lie your tired head after the drive to Medford!

Update!
OK the crew is dropping like flies! The breakdowns and selling of cars is killing us! We are now sitting at 27 cars...
If you are on the list, but think you are going to be a 'no show'... Please let me know as soon as you are sure, OK? And on the other side of the fence, if you are a last minute 'I wanna go!' please let me know ASAP as well.
Here is our agenda/schedule:
6:00 PM Saturday night the 'out of towners' arrive @ Jeff's house for a well deserved cold beer!
7:30 PM Saturday night we will arrive at Mucho Gusto in Medford to hook up with local members for some great fresh mex and 'gritas'. At that point we will figure out who are staying at my house and who are staying at Jeff's house.
10:30 AM Sunday we meet at the Medford Subaru Dealer.
11:00 AM Sunday we roll for our drive.
The entire drive should take about 2.5 hours ~
We will go directly to the large open lot by Lake Of The Woods for photo ops and straight back down the hill.
Lake Of The Woods is shut down for the season. So, we will have pizza and beer at the Creekside, in Ashland. One of our local members Raja (AKA 'The Outlaw') is the bartender there and he will be able to phone in the order so the pizza is hot and waiting for us when we arrive!
I will be sending via e-mail a map and directions to Jeff's house for the people coming from out of town (and of course and local members who want to meet there as well). So, if I don't have your e-mail address, make sure I get it!
See you all on Saturday night the 11th... w00t!
Cheers,
Michael

w00t!
Look at that weather window! Don't want to hear anything about rain... this is Southern Oregon man.
I just got back from doing the 'pre-run' of the loop! Damn, I just flew on that road today and I am still grinning 3 hours later. Passed just two cars the entire run.
I will be handing out directions & route notes to all this Sunday morning so we don't loose any of you again. The couple chassis scrappers and rim benders we found on our August drive are ALL gone! Road crew has been working hard.
You can also grab copies of the maps as they are now current to the route we will be running on Sunday.
Any of you who would like to come back to the house after Mucho Gusto (locals and 'out-of-towners') are welcome to hang and sip some brews. Make it a 'BYOB' event and I would suggest bringing them in a cooler, so they are cold and ready to tip.
See you all soon!

D.O.T. Dropped Gravel On Our Entire Route!
SOIC Greensprings ll Canceled!!!
I am so sorry, but we had 3" of snow last night on the roads we are using. No big deal, we have two warm sunny days coming to melt it! BUT, Oregon DOT thought they better bring out the gravel trucks and they dropped pumice stone on our entire loop. I just got back home from running up there... it will destroy our cars if we run.
We are left with our core local people and I will find an alternate drive ASAP and will keep all posted ~
We will still meet @ 10:30AM at the Subaru dealer!

SOIC October 12th Drive!
When we had to bail on our drive that so many people had looked forward to from Portland to Ashland, I was pretty much devastated. At one point we had 31 cars coming and expectations were high. Then disaster struck in the form of the pumice rock destroying our drive (will Oregon D.O.T. ever run out?).
We were left with 12 cars (11 Subarus and 1 Evo). I threw together a last minute route/loop in low elevations and showed up at 10:30 AM with the rest at Southern Oregon Subaru Mitsubishi.
Then a 1st time runner showed up. A wingless STI from down here with a car that was both awesome and a 'sleeper' at the same time. Better then that, he knew the route I had chosen (and then some) like the back of his hand. The best way to run quick on a road you don't know... thank you from all of us Don!
He set a pace that was fast, but not crazy and on very uncrowded roads we had a blast. This was a great, great route for early fall and late spring.
There was not a single 'asshat' move made by anyone. For a mix of ages from 19 to 55, everyone drove with respect and skill. Pass!
So here are a few images... The last two shots are from our 'SOIC' secretary and 'mascot', Lyna (AKA "Scooter") obviously our resident artist!
If anyone else has images to post ~ please post on NASIOC.com, RS25.com & ClubWRX.net & IWSTI.com, as they were the only four boards to send people to our drive...
Thanks to all for lifting my spirits and giving us a great run! :sunny:
This is one sick STI ~ Don, you rock!
'Scooter' ~ You got the eye, girlfriend!
