Ok I needed to get you in so I can get some input
Here is the deal, I am thinking of opening a "performance shop", we would be "specializing" mostly in AWD and Turbo cars. Though we would not be turning any business away.
The location would probably be "South Sound" IE: Federal Way, Kent, Auburn, Puyallup, Tacoma or somewhere like that... (More than likely somewhere South of the "South Center Mall" area...)
I have a lot in mind for this shop, here is a taste of what I am thinking:
I am kicking this idea around and have been for some time... So please give me some feedback!
Would you utilize this facility?
Would you be interested in having a "DIY" (do it yourself) type facility available for install days?
Would You be interested in Club dyno days?
Any input would be much appreciated.

It's not looking as bad and definetly not impossible as many people think!

The only thing that you will need to consider as far as issues would be the already established business' in the tacoma area. Most of us around here have been with these shops for awhile and you might... sstress on the might, have problems stealing customers away from them. To offer my 2 cents, try to achieve more of a high end feel to the whole shop. this sounds like what you have in mind, just try and make it respectable. It kind fof gets to me ordering from a shop where invoces are hand written and the entire shop is cluttered with boxes and cracked body kits. Before I get too into this, I have though about it too, but dont have the funds so I will give you all of my thoughts and suggestions.
1. Access, freeway is key that's why speedline does so well, the have a good, not great location.
2. Hours, it sucks for you but I think that it might pay off to be open till like 12 on fridays and saturdays.
3. Go light on stereo, car toys is huge, plus you have a bunch of "outlet" stores around there that are going to kill the price that you can give
4. Dyno.... great idea, the only ones around here are at PED, and Austins perfromax... they are cool guys, just not too hip on the import crowd.
5. Do some sponsored cars, probally your own, and drive the hell out of them around the high schools, or heck, higher a high school kid to work there and let him take it to school on fridays! just kidding but you get the point.
Without getting this list too long, ill cut it off there. I am really interested in your ideas, and think that we feel the same about the shops. I have a bunch more ideas, so if you want to chat let me know. Good luck with everything, you got my support 100%
