+1...

05's come with different headlights(tinted black), The Flare on the rear, 8" wide rims, The biggest bull**** wheel offset ever(5x114.3), Different Steering wheel(I think it's just the coloring), Then i heard a rumor about the 05 having a little better suspension parts??

Actually, the later 04's (not mine ) came with the black headlights too. They look much better. A good amount of the interior of the 05 is different: different steering wheel, different center console, different hvac controls, stereo, etc. The 05 wheel bolt pattern is 5x114.3 and the only other Subaru with this pattern is the SVX. The suspension difference is in the lateral links.

There are some minor visual cues as well: the rear wheel well lip to hide the wider (8") wheels, the STi logos on the doors are different.

There may be some other stuff I'm forgetting but those are the major things that jump out at you.

see i even confuse people online it's a real STi, well unless you're one of those guys that say only real STi's are 2.0's . i got it like 4 months after they came out, when everyone was buying Evo's i just took the wing off, got wrx sides and the jdm front and rear. 05's do have alot of little changes. that rear fender deal being one of them. i blacked the headlights out myself.

the shift boot is a jdm ITR boot. i stole it from my brother since it didn't fit his car anymore when we swapped in a k20a w/ the 6spd(jdm dc5 ITR) it take some cutting and sewing to fit. all parts are real sans the front lip. i went with gruppe-s rep since i knew i woudl scape the **** out of it, plus they gave me a good deal let me tell you, that thing is a champ, i have scraped the living hell out of it, ran into parking curbs, everything, it's holding up awesome. i got the sides form a member on here, straight up trade, and the real jdm rears from gruppe-s. **** almost everything i have is from gruppe-s
