looks clean! what kind of sandpaper and paint did you use? did you use primer and clear coat? i am toying with the idea of painting my stockers black but, i worry about the chipping too and would want to do everything possible to try and prevent it.

I used 180 Grit to do the initial sanding down, 1000 grit after the final paint coat. the paint i used was Rustoleum Stops Rusts Gloss White and yes i did primer the wheels before painting them and clearcoat after paint.

thanks a lot bro! just a tip, i spread the work out over two days and it went a lot smoother. also, take time prepping because in the end you want the paint to last. post pics when you get done!

here is a quick rundown of what i did:
1. wash the wheels EXTREMELY well, no brake dust or anything and then let them dry.
2. begin sanding them down. make sure you hit every nook and cranny on the wheels or the paint will not stick well on them.
3. after you are done sanding them, wash them again and wipe them down.
4. now time for painting. first i started with the primer. REMEMBER!!! 2-3 light coats are better than 1 thick coat. make sure you keep nice even strokes while hitting the wheels with the primer. I used 2 coats of primer front and back before moving on to the paint. oh and i maid index cards from newpapers to protect the tires from overspray.
5. for the paint, i used extremely light coats and 4 coats all together letting them dry between each coat for about 10min.
6. next came clearcoat, some say you should sand the paint before applying the clear but i got lazy and didnt bother with it.
anyways 3 light coats letting each coat dry in between.
7. its best to let them dry overnight, but my driveway is sloped and i didnt want to leave my car on jack stands so i mounted them loosely and lowered the car back down.
if you need some more info just let me know.
