Added more progress pics

Also today Ryan (Vakamon) fixed the broken bits of plastic on my engine. The timing belt, one of the exhaust cam gears, and the belt cover. It all turns over smoothly, I can't wait to drive it again.

Thanks everyone! I actually plan to repaint the car (including the CF hood) when I get the side skirts, lip, and trunk. I don't really like the look of carbon (my personal preference) but I like what it does! I only want you to realize the pieces are carbon when you look underneath

Question So what does it cost?

Great set of photos.
If you don't mind about how much did the labor cost you and how much was done by a shop versus your labor?

I have a 02 WRX in Blaze Yellow (1 or 450 built with this color) with a custom spoiler (modified a 99 RS spoiler to fit, looks great). Also have stone-guard all the way around, and only 21K miles on it. I love it to death but I'm lusting over the STi guts.

I'm trying to decide whether to sell it and buy a used STi and then save my lunch money until I can afford to repaint it. Or find a wrecked STi and do what you did, or buy aftermarket brakes and suspension to bring those systems up to STi levels, then modify the engine to at least increase the power at lower rpms. Then I still do not have a 6 speed transmission.

Of couse my wife thinks I'm crazy cause I already have a great car.
So what do you guys think?

Thanks Bob

I did the swap because my own STi was totalled by the insurance company and I had the opportunity to buy it back at a really low price.

It's something I could have done myself considering this was nearly a complete swap (no splicing) but I don't have the time with the work I do.

I doubt I would have done it by using 2 *good* running cars.

By the way, the car is running now... I got to drive it a few days ago, and it feels great
