Subaru Legacy 2.5GT

Like it did with its Impreza lineup, which boasts the 227-hp WRX, Subaru is upping the ante with its flagship Legacy sedan and wagon. Arriving at dealerships this spring, the 2005 Legacy 2.5GT is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged and intercooled boxer-four that pumps out 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. Similar to the WRX STi’s potent 300-hp engine, the Legacy’s features Subaru’s Active Valve Control System (AVCS) for optimal low- and mid-range torque and high-end output. Transmission choices include a standard five-speed manual and an optional five-speed automatic. Of course, all-wheel drive is standard and comes in two varieties: a viscous-coupling locking center differential that distributes power 50/50 front to rear is standard on cars with the five-speed manual; a Variable Torque Distribution (VTD) system that uses a planetary center differential and an electronically controlled continuously variable hydraulic transfer clutch is uses on automatic-equipped models. Wheelbase has been increased from 104.3 inches to 105.1 inches and overall length has been increased almost two inches. Wearing more aggressive, tauter sheetmetal, the Legacy is not only sleeker to the eye, but to the wind as well-the sedan registers a coefficient of drag of 0.28 and the wagon 0.30. A new, stiffer unitized body structure makes greater use of aluminum and high-strength steel, as well as hydroforming and tailored-blank welding. Aluminum parts include the hood and bumper beams and the rear gate on wagons. The all-independent suspension uses MacPherson struts up front and a multilink setup in the rear. The sporty GT models roll on standard 17 x 7-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 215/45R17 tires, and feature four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). Inside, the Legacy moves upscale with LED gauges, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, sport seats with four-stage heating, a Momo-designed three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 120-watt AM/FM stereo with a six-disc in-dash CD changer. Safety features include standard front-seat side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags, and active front head restraints that help reduce potential whiplash injuries.

*Wow*

What an amazing car! My girlfriend really wants one of these too. She plans on getting one when the lease runs out on her Accord. She loves driving the Rex. And she's definitely getting the turbo!

I'm trying to get a hold of those wheels that are on the STi version legacy, and were also on the S401. But damn, when i do that i might have to buy a new 2.5GT to go with um thats hot! Only problem with those wheels is from STi they are almost 1k a piece w/o tires!
