For the guys that have the 20% can you see out of them at night time?
Also is there a chart or link of a link to see the different shades a tint can be?
Is the 20% mean that it's that much away from being completly black?
Thanks,
-Nigel

I have 20% on my black 2.5RS and it is something you just get used to at night. I like it because it 'completes' the look of the car. A dark tint, I think makes any car look sharp. 35% is Ok, but doesn't look as nice as 20%, in my opinion.

Is there a site or pictures of the %'s of tint. I was thinking 35% but is 30% doable or even 25%? I'm not sure how the scale goes, the only thing I have seen is from pics of your cars :-)
Is it easy to do your self, or worth it to do yourself. I would much rather stick tint on my windows then pay $150 for it....
Thanks,
-Nigel

My personal experience is...
50% (my WRX front 2 windows) is very light, you can easily see into the car. But it's better than no tint.
35% (all my BMW windows, factory tint) you can see it's tinted from the outside, and can see shadows in the car but not much else. (I'm not sure mine are exactly 35%, but it's around that)
20% (my WRX back 5 windows) under most conditions, to my eyes, this looks black from the outside.
5% very dark (is this "limo" tint?) I'd like to have this!
I'm sure others have different opinions.
Same tint % all round looks best IMO, but tinted front windows may get you a ticket depending on your state law. That's why for my WRX I got only 50% front, coz that looks untinted compared to the darker windows at the back. But if CA state law would allow, I'd go darker.
I paid a pro to do my WRX tints, easily worth the $150. DIY could be tricky, and you might end up with air pockets, bubbles, ripples, etc. Yuk!

Tinting is a great visual mod, excellent bang for your $. It looks good, keeps your car cooler in the sun, cuts down glare at night, gives you a bit more privacy.
Get yer tints done!

I have no problems seeing out at night unless I'm out in the country where there are NO lights at all around, then I just pop my head out the window to back up. I'd go with the 5% tint on the back three and 20% on the front two if I had to do it again. You can see through it too well for my taste.
Here are a few cars that I've Tinted.

As soon as I get home I'll take some pictures of my suby. I've got a 01' Impreza RS with limo tint all the way around 4%. No strip on the front. I absloutely love it. It keeps the damn sun out of my eyes and keeps the bright lights of cars behind me out of my eyes. I also had limo tint all the way around on my Ford Taurus SHO, but I got busted for that. A $138 dollar fine! When the cop stuck the tint meter on my windows it read 0.6%. Yeah that's right 0.6%. It was freakin awsome. But I had to strip it and go to court to fight the ticket. Got out of it by only pleading no contest and showing that I got rid of it. I'll never do it to my subaru though. Later.
