Should I buld a 2.5 or 2.2?

So I guess its my turn to build my wrx but i need to pick a block first.I hear great power gains out of the 2.5 and everyone gets it. But I know a place were I can get a 2.2L turbo Subaru block. I belive it's out of an 94 legacy. So my questions to you are..

Should I go with a 2.5 or 2.2? Why?

What's the good and bad to both blocks? Detail!

Thanks everyone

2.2=harder to find parts and wierd lil install things.

2.5L=lots of parts and very simple install.

go for the 2.5

My plan for my EJ22 is to drop in an STi crank and some bigger pistons. EJ20 heads. V7 STi manifold, VF39. That'll do

yep! im doing that but bigger lol...

plus you have to drill into the block for your starter don't forget that... the old ej22 have less tranny to engine bolts... your starter will need a place to hold itself to....

it don't matter if it is a turboed Short block or a NA short block. they have the same design just different internals lol.. so technically i have an endless supply of 2.2 blocks lol..
