surely...without a doubt!!!!
Not only is the RS lighter by a couple hundred pounds....but it is also geared lower!!!!
there were some wrx's on the track too, but we seemed to just pull away lap after lap.

NICE...I have been an anti 4 door supporter since they ever started thinking up the wrx. Its nice to know that my GC8 can WOOP a rex with the exact same engine. everything about the WRX is inferior....body style(blah 4 door)....weight.... ride hieght....and the new rims are uglier too. i dont understand how the engineers would acept such a heavy design. so what if the tortional rigidity is improved....my 98 RS is still MUCH tighter on the turns(stock drivetrain) then my dads brand new rex(stock).

Looks like great fun! BTW, how much did that conversion cost you? Did you do yourself or have some shop do it and if so what shop did it for you? I"m thinking of doing the same...any info would be great.

they are the only conversion shop on the west coast that has done over ten flawless conversions!!!!
50 state smog legal too!!!
turn key including act clutch and flywheel...$7500
figure that compared to a turbo kit fir $5000+.....no worries about head gaskets like the 2.5 liter...and any upgrade for the wrx is gonna work for this set-up...I've well got over 300HP...and about 300lbs less weight..with shorter gearing!!!
12.9 sec 1/4mile @108MPH....with bad launches too...tire smoke off all four....1st gear is alomst too short for this much power!!!
