Honda doesn't even build an AWD 2.0 liter car that could compete in the WRC! that said, it would be interesting to see them introduce an AWD turbo Civic to compete, if only to get more manufacturers into the championship.

A 2.0t civic w/ AWD...there are enough civics as is, we dont need them intruding on our territory.

whitelegacy's got a point..but we all know who would win...(Subaru of course). Just to confirm, all the WRC cars have to be no greater than a 2.0L engine and AWD...is this right?
Thanks,
Cody

yeah, all WRC cars run turbo'd 2.0 liter engines, and AWD. in addition, they're fitted with restrictor plates that limit power output to abut 300bhp, but make huge ammounts of torque.

Audi used to compete in the WRC, back when they ran the super mental Group B cars. it'd be great to see them join the fray again, i'm all for more manufacturers in the WRC, it only makes the racing better.

i seem to remember Volvo racing in rallies waaaaay back, but i could be wrong, it may have been just privateer teams.

same here. I also gotta say I've always wished Audi would return to its roots. Volvo would be a nice addition too. Maybe a VW team that uses something other than the beetle (golf?). Just wishin I guess

Does the FIA mandate AWD? Because I thought a few years ago Loeb got his first podium finish with a 2wd Citroen.

to be honest, i don't know if the FIA mandates AWD. i do know that on gravel, you'd be brain dead to run RWD against the AWD cars. Sebastian Loeb used to race the Super 1600 class, and that car might have been FWD -- i'm not that familiar with the S1600 class rules. keep in mind that there are a lot more classes run than Group A, which is the group that Petter & Co. run in. you can check out http://www.fia.com if you're really intersted in the rules, but it's a bit of a pain.
