Honda doesn't even build an AWD 2.0 liter car that could compete in the WRC! that said, it would be interesting to see them introduce an AWD turbo Civic to compete, if only to get more manufacturers into the championship.
whitelegacy's got a point..but we all know who would win...(Subaru of course). Just to confirm, all the WRC cars have to be no greater than a 2.0L engine and AWD...is this right?
Thanks,
Cody

yeah, all WRC cars run turbo'd 2.0 liter engines, and AWD. in addition, they're fitted with restrictor plates that limit power output to abut 300bhp, but make huge ammounts of torque.

about more teams in the wrc... i was thinking about it the other day. heres the ones i came up with that I feel should be running wrc cars.
Volvo
Saab
VW (r32 gti chassis, with 2ltr T!)
Audi (keeping the R8 race car going probably takes most of the budget)
Seat
and yes, i realize that VW, Audi, and Seat are all related, but Skoda is too. just give us more teams!!

about the pic, it is indeed Toni. what a lame way for Auriol to end up. b'c he was in tc, he couldn't get out and switch the gearbox to manual!! uggg

Audi used to compete in the WRC, back when they ran the super mental Group B cars. it'd be great to see them join the fray again, i'm all for more manufacturers in the WRC, it only makes the racing better.
i seem to remember Volvo racing in rallies waaaaay back, but i could be wrong, it may have been just privateer teams.

to be honest, i don't know if the FIA mandates AWD. i do know that on gravel, you'd be brain dead to run RWD against the AWD cars. Sebastian Loeb used to race the Super 1600 class, and that car might have been FWD -- i'm not that familiar with the S1600 class rules. keep in mind that there are a lot more classes run than Group A, which is the group that Petter & Co. run in. you can check out http://www.fia.com if you're really intersted in the rules, but it's a bit of a pain.

VW did used to rally actually, they had a "Rallye Golf" available in Europe, it was an AWD 1.8t model, but I don't think it ever did that good. I had a video at one time of one rolling into the woods if anyone needs proof. It would be nice if Audi got back in the game, they dominated so much back in the day. I don't know what they'd use now, as all they're available cars or overweight pigs not really suited to that sort of driving...
