Talking New Pics - ROTA Grids steel grey and side strakes

Got this as my Xmas Present and finally got around to taking some pics of the new look! They're mounted on 215/45/R17 Toyo Proxes 4

I love SubyDude - sent the T shirt as well as a free set of tuner lugs!!!

Also have the side strakes mounted (had to spray paint them flat black to get them to match my unpainted side skirts )

As you can also see, I'm still toying around with the idea of the hood vents...

Looks good. I must say it's definitely unique keeping the sideskirts unpainted and actually painting the strakes to match. Different, but I like it.

hey, those look real nice. i know these rims' design is borrowed from volk's te37, and i have a few questions about the rotas. of course the price difference being the biggest and the material and construction, how differet/similiar are they from each other? the te37's and the rota grids, can a person tell them apart just from looking at them? or are there any distinctive features on either of tehse rims? i ask because i love the volk le37's but they are so expensive, so i wonder what the alternative would be.

also to cannibal, looks like your car's suspension is not stock or maybe they are, but if its not stock, what kind of spring or suspension set up do you have? it looks like you have the prodrive springs' amount of drop, but..of course i cant tell just by looking at it. so..do u have springs? and if you do, what kind are they?

stock suspension... I've thought about springs, but this was a relatively expensive purchase for me (rims and tires with mounting and balance). Plus then you have to worry about getting an alignment and then there's that whole thing about how your headlights have to be a certain height above the ground, etc...

maybe in the future...

as for the differences between these and the Volks, ask Subydude - I'm sure he'll be able to help you out much more than I could (since other than pics, I don't think I've ever actually seen a set).

There are differences.

The weight of the volks are ~ 5 lbs lighter per wheel and the rotas do not haev the rays "stamp" on them and ofcourse the lack of the Volk stickers on the spokes.

As far as the spoke design....it is very similar.

The price difference...well I am not sure on how much the TE37's are, but the Rota Grids are $650 shipped.

if you have additional questions about them feel free to email us at sales@subydude.com

sorry for the slight hijack of your thread.

so if you put stickers on it, and the center cap and all that, no one can tell the difference?

there's the touch and finish and rotas' gunmetal isn't exactly the same color as te37's .. so i'd say stripe the paint on the grids, repaint it professionally, then put the stamp and cap on.. u'd have yourself a set of volks
