New guy
New guy
Hey guys, I've been looking at this site for a while but I havn't posted anything yet. I've got a stock yellow '02 wrx and I'm planning on starting with mods sometime over the summer. I've got about $5000-6000 to spend on this bad boy and was wondering what I should do. I'm planning to get a full kit, nothing to flashy just a little better looking than stock, probably 17'' rota subzeros for the rims, and Eibach pro kit springs to get it a bit lower. That's gonna be about it for the exterior. I'm looking to mod some stuff for performance, but engine work is a no no. Looking at cold air intake, a downpipe, and some sort of a catback exhaust. I'm not really a pro with the performance stuff so if you wanna throw a new guy to modding cars some tips I'd be gracious...I'll take some pics after it gets a little warmer and I can wash/wax.

I had 5000 to spend. All I got was a JIC coilover kit and some Volk racing wheels.
Rota's suck and everyone has them.
I just think you get what you pay for so don't go with cheap stuff.

well my man i can say that that car can be made to be a street killing machine and an off road king. So i would start with the the simple stuff air flow system. intake, heads, exhaust. then maybe rims and tires and a kit, simple graphics can really make a car with the right rims. Rota Rocks and they wont kill your pocket book. if you actually plan to drive your scubby then make it so if parts break they wont coast you an arm and a leg. but if you just want to go to a burger shop and just sit out by your ride and just play street racer then go all out. but if you plan on actually racing one the most sexiest cars on tires then make it so you wont hurt you to bad to replace parts, tires are going to tent to bend from time to time on off roading events.

Stevo.....stay away from a Cold air intake (CAI)...the WRX does not like CAIs....it will actually hurt your power more than anything else. There are many, many threads on this forum that talk about CAIs and how the stock intake is actually a really good design for this car, and generally wont need to be changed unless you are going with a wild turbo setup. Spend that money on something else, like an up-pipe. Also, if you use the search function on the site, you can find the threads I am talking about, just search for "Cold Air Intakes."
