My01 RS (past to present)

i guess it all started from watching the NewYears WRC marathon on Speed channel in 2001. after that i began dreaming of owning a subaru. once i had a decent amount saved up i started searching local car lots, suby dealerships, and autotrader for an RS coupe. it took almost 2yrs to find "the right one" and ended up finding a beautiful white (the one color i didnt want) on ebay. my first time ever driving a suby was bringing it home to Atlanta, GA from Syracuse, NY. since the RS was already decently modded i spent alot of time just driving it. took it to a few autocross events and a subaru challenge event here in atlanta. has seen a handful of mountain roads in NC, SC, and GA. hoping to take it to the dragon one year.

as purchased in July 2004:
NA EJ25
Brullen EQL headers
Brullen hi-flow cat
Brullen 2.5" catback
Gansflow intake
Tein GDB Flex coilovers
Whiteline front/rear swaybars
AgencyPower front endlinks
Perrin rear endlinks
Greddy front lip
Syms replica sideskirts
Syms replica rear bumper
22B replica wing
Ver6 rear lights
18x7.5 Enkie RPOMs

wasnt long before the Greddy (snowplow) front lip snapped itself into two pieces due to a large grate in a parking lot. i replaced it with a genuine Ver6 front lip.

my first event in the RS, heck my first auto event ever.

for christmas 2004 i got some mesh fog covers and CWest eyelids.

well it didnt take long before NA just wasnt enough. so i began saving for a swap. in the midst of saving up my tranny got fubared. 2nd and 3rd gears were chipped and the clutch fork gone. while searching for a new tranny i found a Ver6 STi Type RA being shipped over to GR8wheels.com in tempe, AZ. we struck a deal and i shipped my baby off to get some new heart and soul. she came back with much more than that. a set of Cusco Zero 2Rs, Fujitsubo headers, and a MonsterSport lightweight flywheel. -

Ya I saw your car on rs25... thats a pretty sick conversion there. Not really feelin the black hood but everything else is great. I wish I could have gone JDM on my swap but had to settle for USDM due to smog. Are you gonna have anyone tune that beast?

stg2lgy00: working on getting it tuned. trying to get a shop here in the southeast to get the EcuTek Flash99 software. or end up shiipping the ECU out to Lachute for a bench reflash. as for the hood-cheaper than having it paint matched to the custom paint, and i love pandas. still have the USDM hood that has the same paint as the rest of the car.

RedStage: thanks, but its far from done. not too much planned for the exterior-well install JDM rear bumper and Ver6 wing, and get a hold of some stock sideskirts. still have a lot of work planned for the engine and drivetrain.

groceries is definitely a daily driving thing, which this car is and will stay.....for now. plan on taking to driving schools, track days, rally cross, and even drifting. yes i am a traitor. i am looking into getting a RWD conversion kit (so i will still have the ability to switch between AWD and RWD....of course to do so will take around 1-2hrs) for the GC.

wasnt sure if the eyelids would look right with the matching hood or not. glad i kept them tho. it looks like the black face paint marks soldiers put on before battle.

the JDM aluminum hood actually weighs the same as a c/f hood and i dont have to worry about the clearcoat dulling, which seems to be a big problem with c/f parts that arent painted over.
