Thumbs up

The other car is a 1990 Porsche 944 S2. Its got a 3.0liter I-4, the biggest 4 cylinder ever built in history.

I thought the 968 held that honor? And according to Porsche themselves "the best balanced Porsche ever built". Not to argue the quality of your garage! Pretty damn sweeeeet!

Yeah, I know what your saying though, every car has it's unique qualities. Even though a WRX or STi is a brute, it's still a car with a lot of finesse. In a muscle car, especially older models, the cars have so much charecter and they are built with great quality and craftsmanship that it is hard to compare anything else to it. They are 4,000 rockets built to do one thing, to go straight and make a lot of lateral g's. WRX's and STi's, they are built to do a little of everything and that is why I love the cars so much, they're unique, fast, attractive and I love that Boxster rumble, nothing sounds sweeter to my ears than a Suby with some nice pipes. It's comparing apples to oranges and bothtypes of cars deserve a lot of respect, especially the WRX and STi, who would of thought 5 years ago in the states that these cars would have such a huge and loyal following, people who don't know s*** ask, A Subaru? and I'm like f*** yeah a Subaru and all of you know exactly what I'm talking about. I have grown pretty much obsessed with Subies and I love them more and more everyday. I'll probably will own one for the rest of my life.
When I told my wife, "I want a Subaru STi," she said, "WHAT?! A SUBARU??" I told her, "Yeah! A Subaru!" She was just like, "Eww. Subarus are about the UGLIEST cars on the road!"

Well, "auto show time" came and we saw an STi in 2004. I pointed it out to her and she had nothing but the worst of things to say about it. "I can't believe you like that thing! That thing is RICE! IT LOOKS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! I can't believe that Mr. Camaro likes that thing!"

Well, "Mr. Camaro" also likes El Caminos, which again are arguably "ugly ducklings." She doesn't understand my attraction to '68-'72 Caminos either. I think they're some of the sweetest looking American Muscle on the planet when classfully restored. I'd have mine painted "forest green/black vinyl roof and pillars" or "burgundy/black vinyl roof pillars," and hold the "street rod" wheels. Just hook me up with some classic Rallys in the front, and make sure the ones in the back are wider.

I said for it's time. It's a 1990, the 968's weren't built till a little later and I was talking about the handling of the car not necessarily the actual weight distribution itself, and yes the 944 S2 still holds the honor of the largest 4 cylinder ever built, the 968's had the second largest 4 cylinder but the most horsepower per liter (80 hp/per liter)of any car car in history that is naturally aspirated, the 968 was actually called the 944 S3 which was going to be the answer to the S2 but since so many parts were different from the platform of an S2 that they renamed the car to the 968. Just a little Porsche history for ya. But thanks for the compliment!

I want a 928S. I also really like the 968 (hardtop) models. The convertibles look horrible.

Yeah one of my favorite Porsches are the 968 hardtops. It is such a sleek car, I like them more than any of the other Porsches built in the mid- 90's personally. Isn't the 928 S have a 5.0 liter V-8? Too many numbers to remember.

Years ago I lived in an apartment complex and a neighbor had one. It had around 160,000 miles on it if memory serves correct, and then it was just "gone" one day. It turns out that the car almost killed him; literally. Apparently the rear just gave out on it while he was on the interstate and he hit the median wall. In other words, the wheels just "fell off," I recall him saying. That's gotta be scary!

I hope that doesn't happen to me.

Well yeah! Me too!

I can't imagine how scary that was. Obviously because of the damage the car was totalled. It was pretty sad, especially because it was a VERY NICE car. Absolutely flawless. Red with tan leather.
