My sonic yellow WRX
I wanted to be the first sonic yellow WRX in here. I think you could consider my car an ongoing project because I have the intention of doing further modification, however we'll see if I ever do
I bought my '03 WRX in February of '03. I really wanted a WRX in '02 but wasn't ready to buy at the time, so I'm glad I waited, especially since sonic yellow wasn't offered in '02.
A few weeks after I got it:
I ran in to a problem - well a semi that cut me off back in October. I was pretty dissapointed and thought for sure it would be totaled. Repairs were about $11,000 but that's just because the shop I took it to is really expensive, not because the car was actually that jacked up. Reasonably priced shop would probably have been about $5,000 or $6,000.
30 days after the accident I had the car back and was back on the road! I wanted to start modding the car right away, however my job situation was unsure so I had to save money. I ended up running in to a few deals I couldn't pass on.
The first was a set of Rota Subzeroes, silver with polished lip. They sat on the floor in my living room for about 3 months before I actually installed them. My girlfriend was ready to turn them in to a glass table so I had to do something with em I decided that 4x4 was the way to be:
About the same time, a really great shop in the bay called Creative Kustoms offered a deal on painting sideskirts. I had to take this one - I'd been quoted about $400 everywhere here in town and these guys were < $100 (not anymore though). Still rolling bigfoot style, but the painted sideskirts really helped:
Just prior to my accident in October '03, I had met the fine people at a shop here in Sac called S-Squared. I'd stayed in contact with them, beoming friends, and after a couple months of them picking on me for riding so high, a good thing happened. They had ordered STi injectors for another customer, and the distributor made an error, instead sending out STi pink springs. They called me up, offered them to me and I couldn't pass it up:
In April, I decided to rid myself of the Subzeroes for the new hot wheel hitting the streets, the Rota Tarmac II in steel grey. Thanks to SubyDude for the wheels:
Since then I've added CF blinker covers:
NEW: 8/14/04
NEW: 8/14/04
Thanks for reading!
NEW: 10/18/04

2. Pink 5 star front badge.
She's really comin along!!!
Took some new pics today to follow up on yesterdays VF34 install

Nice recovery since the accident. My sonic rex has been an ongoing project since last year. Right now still trying to decide between bronze, silver, or gunmetal rims. Did you have to polish those rims to get it that shiny, or is it from the camera flash? I've always thought steel gray was kinda dull, but not in the last pic.
