For your camera mount idea, i have included some pics of the mount i made (sorry they suck, the in car one was one i just found lying around and the others i just took in the bathroom for this post). I used a piece of 1 inch tubing that ran from the outside edge of the drivers headrest to the outside edge of the passengers headrest. I drilled holes the size of the metal headrest stems and placed them into the holes, pushing them down to form a pretty solid mount. from there i drilled a small hole into the tubing and just unscrewed the head of my tripod off and put a wood spacer in so that i could adjust the angles without getting caught on the tubing. If you have any questions you can email me punkboi@softhome.net or if you want better pictures of it, i can also send those. I got the idea for it from a couple audi sites and converted there one headrest idea to two for more stability and fluidness with the car when i rally. But if you are only using it for street use, you could probably get away with the one that they made.

*note, if you are trying the two seats idea like i did, you may notice that your two seats dont exactly line up when they are in the "same position" i noticed my passenger seat sits slightly farther back and about a 1/2-3/4 inch lower.

the tripod head on the wood spacer
the two holes for the one headrest
a hole measured up against a quarter
the camera mounted in the car (we zip tied it to the tubing for safety)

hehehe. yeh. im going to take pics tomorrow too... It's actually clean now. haha.
i think it's like a 4.7 inch tip. When my mom saw it she said she wanted to strangle me. hahaha.
oursTodestroy, great idea. do you know how i'd do it for an 04? i don't have those metal bars in the headrest. It's racer seat style. haha...

doh! my bad
never even thought about that, cuz i am rockin the 92 legacy
my other idea i was thinking about, to make the shot a little more recessed is to put a screw through the trunk roof (but the section that is inside the car, like where you would put a child safety hook), and then just putting a small mount onto that, and you could just remove the screw & mount when you dont need it, and that way you can zoom the camera to the view you want, i dont know how you feel about a VERY small hole in your section there, cuz it wouldnt even be visible when you took the screw out... just an idea. if you do it, take some pics!
