they are screws that require a special bit for the screw driver, the bit was included with the screws and plate.

no no, I know that :-p I had the silver one on my yellow rex, but it also came with s/s screws, did your black one come with black screws or did it come with s/s screws? I can't really tell from the pic... If it came with black screws I think I am sold!

I don't know about gunmetal, consider something dark bronze like CE28N knockoffs, they look REALLY hot IMO

gun metal? you mean the rims? I've actually found the Grids in bronze now... so that is what I am going to get, not the gunmetal...
