You're supposed to UPLOAD your photos somewhere, not link it off your Mac. There's an "attach file" function when you post on this board when you click on "manage attachments".
go into iPhoto, hit apple+shift+e, this is the export command, resize to 800x and click constrain aspect ratio, easiest place to export is desktop, make sure it's jpeg too
