it's actually done in a software called PhotoMontage2000. It came with my old digital camera. You just pick a bunch of pictures to be put together to look like one pic from far away. The higher resolution really shows what's inside the small pics. There are Pirelli girls there somewhere.

I'm planning on printing it on a 24"x36" photo paper and mount it like a poster.

ummm.... I can print it here at work with no problem. Unfortunately, we only have a limited supply of the glossy photo paper; but we have a **** load of thick coated bond paper which accepts colors real well. If I print it on the bond paper, the next best thing to do is to get it laminated then framed on one of those cheapo poster frames.

All that said, I don't know as of yet what size I will reproduce these. Maybe 17x11, 16x20, 18x24, or 24x36. Also, if I print this on regular bond paper, ofcrouse it wouldn't cost that much. As oppose to printing it on glossy photo paper.

Give me a few days to get my numbers straight and see what I can produce, and the quality of the images. I'll have to play around with different settings of plots first. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Oh yeah, another idea would be to use your own photo of your car as the big image. I scoured the net yesterday looking for some Rally pics. I managed to download about 600 photos to use. Therefore, the small pics would contain the subaru sti rally car from different events and from 2001-2003 rally season.

hmmm.... the ideas just won't stop popping up in my head.

Another one would be to download all of the pictures of members in here and use those as small pics, then use ya'lls photo of your own car as the big pic.

That's all I have for now... I'll post again once I figure out the best route and perhaps a sample plot.

here's a sample of what I've been doing. I also printed it on 24x18 bond paper and looks pretty good. All I need now is one of those cheap acrylic poster frame to give it that glossy finish.

best I can do for now.... can't get the high res. to post.

the high res pic is 23MB. I had to do it that high to get a nice print. I don't mind emailing my picture to anyone who wants it. I can try to zip it up and see if I can email it to you.
