it will cause your car to run rich for a couple seconds, not going to hurt anything though...all its doing is blowing the air out completely instead of shooting it back in to the intake and back in to the turbo...if you didnt have a blowoff or bypass valve every time you got off the accellerator the throttle plate closes and it weould surge the air back to the turbine blades

but since the rex comes with a bypass valve that is made perfect for the stock car im pretty sure that an aftermarket BOV on an otherwise stock car would slightly decrease performance...not a big deal just useless without other mods...once you get more mods (intake/exhaust) then the BOV will be a useful upgrade

well for the WRX the stock BOV is fine...if you are keeping the rest of the car stock an aftermarket BOV will slightly decrease performance but will give you a nice sound
