Interior of my 04 STi :)
So I decided I wanted to do something different with my keyring and hvac. Everyone already had blue & red, so I went with a white LED. They came out pretty good and match up with my Defi BF's pretty well.
Please let me know what you folks think.

I got the bulbs at Autolumination.com
Yes, it's an alpine, 7995
.
If you want to do the bulb modification, let me know what year car you have and I'll recommend the right size bulb for your HVAC control. I'm pretty sure if you have an MY02-03 you should get #24 bulbs. If you have an MY04 get #74 bulbs. With the MY04, you'll have to do a little modification to the bulb cups in order to get the lights to fit. The MY02-03 will accept #74 bulbs, #194 (with a little modification, e.g. sanding down and cutting the plastic on the bottom of bulb), but should be able to handle #24's (you'll only need 2).
MY02-03 will use 2 bulbs for HVAC.
MY04 will use 4 bulbs for HVAC.
The keyring is the same on both MY02-03 and MY04, use a #74 bulb of your choice.
As for the MY05, sorry, you are SOL. I took apart my friends HVAC, there are no simple bulbs, you'll have to get actual replacement LED's and solder it yourself. Also for the keyring in the MY05, you'll have to get a #74 incandescent bulb for it to fit; it's no longer a 5 minute swap in the MY05, it takes forever because of the immobilizer/antitheft key ring.
Hope this helps.

I just saw it.
It's for an 04 WRX though, not the STi. I believe the STi is different in the back when you remove the gauge cluster.

it was an sti cluster, has the sti logo, temp and dccd. i partially opened my jdm ver.8 cluster and looks like its going to be quite a challenge, probably have to remove the needles.
