Damn-it Dan, you suck ! I modded mine the same way but put it on the front windshield right above the VIN...the "car" portion is currently on my lovely, " state of hawaii refuse container "

BTW the same thing happened to me, you " centered " the sticker by the outline of the clear plastic cover thingie didn't you ?
