Subaru's are made for nascar, not autocross.

 

+1 here! When I saw the 1st STi in 1994 I thought it was awesome looking. I was really disappointed that it wasn't offered here in the States. For me, it quickly fell from my radar when I realized it wasn't coming to the States, and then in 2000, I was "reminded" of them again when I read a review in either R&T or C&D about the 2.5 RS, when it was featured in some sort of "contest" against other cars. If I remember correctly, it was one of the slowest cars in the group, coming in at around a 16.30 1/4 mile. That didn't stop me from checking them out at the dealership, though. I really liked the cars. I thought the "gauge package" was also extra-cool.

Anyway, another few years went by before buying a car, and by that time the WRX had been released. I couldn't justify the $24,000 for a WRX when I could've purchased a 2002 LS1 Z28, so I purchased a 2002 GTI 1.8T instead.

Well, the STi came over in 2004 and had been on my wishlist ever since. I got mine on 3/30/05.

Not to mention, yeah, I did own one in Gran Turismo.

BTW, this is definitely one beautiful GC8.

BTW very nice car I have a 00rs 4door basically stock , I've only seen 1 gc8 around my area (guess thats a good thing in a way) and it was some old white dude with my exact twin.

 

I find that hard to believe. plenty of gc's in the lbc
