Here's what my buddy Jeff and I did today...
Oh man, maybe you are the answer for my little pet car. I have been working on this thing basically restoring it for 2 years now. It's a '91 Subaru Justy GL 4x4 4 door. It had 49k original miles when I bought it in 2006. It is seriously like a pet, and we have spent a gob of money on this project in an effort to make it usable and have a kickass little elderly Subaru.
So, it has had a problem with the front axles - we have tried around 6 sets now and they keep showing up brand new and broken. Of course you can only tell they are broken once they are installed... Anyway, it was sitting at the shop while we were on vacation and some woman backed into it with her PT cruiser.
So I had really no choice but to take it to a local shop to have it assessed as that is the only way Snake Farm would do it. I took it to them, and made it clear that they were doing the evaluation ONLY. They told me that since my car has basically no "real value" that it would be totalled due to the fender repair. To "save money" they found that they could repair the fender and the car wouldn't be totalled. I said whatever, write it up like that and just cut us a check. The next thing I hear is a call from the shop saying "you car is done" and I was like wtf??? I pick it up and my heart sank. This is the 3rd time I have had body/paint work done in CA and the 3rd time for serious disappointment. The guy was at least nice enough to get most of the overspray off of the car and color in the black stuff they screwed up with a black marker.
Anyway, you can see the picture. I know it's hard to colormatch an old metallic paint, and this is why I expressly told them NOT to fix it. My plan was to have Justin the dent dude work out the metal (no paint was broken) and I would leave it with scratches until I found someone who knows how to paint (the bumpers need a re-spray too). Now, I have my precious little Justy with a oddly colored front fender and questionable body work underneath.
So.. I am really familiar with body/paint work and can do a lot of the work nobody likes such as masking and part removal. What I totally cannot do is body and spray work. It has a few tiny dents and scratches too but nothing major. Do you do stuff like this with the owner doing some of the prep work? I figure if I do the masking then I cannot complain if it sucks.

Ballz email me at bdkekos@yahoo.com, I'm looking to get an 03 front bumper and fender painted and put on. If you could give me a quote that would be great.

Bryan painted my rear bumper this weekend.
I bought him a questionably salvage-able rear bumper from a crashed 04 STI, and with a few hours prep work and then paint, the results are damn near perfect. I do not have stock paint (my whole car was previously repainted) and the color on the bumper came out A++.
Thank you Bryan for a job very well done, especially starting with such a crappy used bumper.

Here's a 2007 Audi S4 that we did this weekend. Passenger front fender, front bumper, rear bumper, and the rear hatch...
