I likem but it seems like EVERYONE has them so I'm shopping around
the moonroof cost $1050 and was done in 2 days
it's got a 3 year warranty and I've had zero problems with it over the past 5 months or so since I've had it
by far the best money I've spent on the car so far

On the moonroof
They did an amazing job
I dropped it off in the morning and had it back the next evening.
looks totally stock.
I'll go ahead and answer all the questions I had before I got into this.
1) Yes, they remove the stock dome light since there isn't enough room for an effective sunroof with the 02/03 dome light being so far forward. They replaced it with a bigger light and moved it back quite a bit. They also redid the entire roof liner. You can't tell at all though. The only thing that gave it away was the new material smell that was there for about a week.
2) No, the car's structural integrity is NOT compromised by removing some mysterious metal beam in the roof. It's basically a sheet of metal that you can bend in your own arms that is there to help keep the basic shape of the roof. Now, with the sunroof in, the roof's integrity is even more sturdy because of the stiff glass.
3)The sunroof is made by a company called Webasto which, after doing a lot of research, I found out is THE company to get it from. It has a pull-back shade which recesses into the roof (and which I just always leave back) and the tinted moon roof. The roof has one-touch open and close, Vent and 2 memory positions. The controls were installed in the front light assembly and the buttons light up in the dark.
4) There are NO leaks. And I would know for sure if there were since I got it installed in the middle of a massive 2 week rainstorm we were having. Never felt a drop
The place I got it from is called MAZ auto glass and sunroof and it contracts a lot of jobs for one of our local Subaru dealerships. They are on Townsend street in San Francisco right near the ballpark. SOA doesn't frown on this and it won't void the car's warranty.
I would recommend that anyone who wants a sunroof, get a hold of a dealer that installs Webasto and DO IT! Summer is almost here!
