Gravel Crew- Tarmac Assault

My rally car is no more!!
SHORT VIDEO---> http://www.shift-lock.net/oilcover/travisclip.wmv
well I still have all the part to put it back to gravel spec but at the moment its getting set up for BEST MOTORINGS "AMERICAN TOUGE 2"
Thats right my car was selected to be one of teh finalists for the new BMI vidoe that will be shot on December 20th at Willow Springs on the "Horse Theif Mile" course
So I have a ton of parts going on it to get it up to par with all the big dogs thatI will be going up against. Ive recieved a ton of help from some amazing companys so be sure and check the links at the bottom of the page
Heres what we have going so far......
The Tockico D-Spec struts are coming out and being replace with Megan Racing Coil-Overs. Since its going to be lower speed course were running there street springs that will provide a little more girp at low speed

OK, so coil overs alone arent going to do anything to help by them self so Norm Reeves Subaru in Temecula CA is donating STI Aluminum Controll arms, STI Pink Trailing arms, STI Pink Lateral links, and a STI Tranny mount. This alone is going to make a huge difference.
From there I have orderd a few Whiteline goodies as well including an Anti-Lift Kit, Steering rack bushings, Rear sub-frame locks, Rear Sub-frame bushings, front and rear sway bar
All these parts will be installed by McKinny Motorsports (huge in the drifting sceen) in Murrieta CA. After the install they will be corner balancing and aligning the car.

OK, so now that the car can handell Im sure your wondering what were going to do to make it go fast and stop.
So for Power we contacted the 2 companys that know RS' best. The first person I got in touch with was Trey Cobb of COBB Tuning in Salt Lake City, UT. Trey is helping out with this project with the addition of COBB's very own equal length header, a 12.36 lb flywhel and one of there clutches. The car is also equipt with a 2.25" mandrell bent exaust, spintech muffler, lightweight pully, and a Custom intake that feeds through the WRX hood scoop
COBB Header
COBB Flywheel
COBB Pro-street clutch
All these parts will be installed by teh boys at Garage Tuning In Irvine CA. Also when the car is there it will recieve a port and polish on the intake and exaust side freeing up a few more horsepower. Also my car now has the rear end from Kevin's 00 RS so its sporting LSD
Once it leaves Garage Tuning it is headed down to see Bill Knose of I-Speed USA, the best RS tuner in the country. Bill has developed a tune for the RS that blows all the others out of the water. Once there the car will be hooked up to the dyno and begin the process of making even more power

Now that the car has some get up and go its time to make her stop. Id go for a BBK from someone like Prodrive or stoptech but thats just more rotating mass that Im going to have power for . So a set of Subaru 4 pot fronts and 2 pot rears will be installed with stainless lines and, sloted rotors, and Ferodo 2500 pads. Wrapping those will be a set of 16X7 Volk TE37s and Dunlop R compound DOT tires

So today I drove out to the Laughlin Intl. Rally and met up with a few friends. Turns out that my good friend Kevin was the person that make stese amazing intake ducts for the 04- 05 fenders. He already has a few sitting in his garage so I am off to get mine tomorrow night. Once instaled I will be switching back to my COBB intake so that I am pulling the coolest air possible..... and in graet style

Plans for the week
Monday- car leaves Mckinny with suspension finished
Tuesday- Nitro 2 Go to get the graphics done
Thursday- Garage tuning to have new COBB clutch, COBB light weight flywheel, COBB EL Headers, STI tranny mount, and the exaust ports polished
Next WEEK- Go down to I-Speed to have the car tuned!!!!!

UPDATE!!!
Got the ALK on today as well as the rear subframe bushings and subframe locks. Its going in for an alignment at 8 AM tomorrow. All I can say is that it handles better than an EVO right now....... and that scares me

Well today went great! I didnt make the final cut but they said that my car was great to drive just needed more power. They pretty much said the suspension was perfect and wouldnt change a thing..... It just came down to the fact that there was a 600+ Skyline in the 4WD class and my RS just couldnt pull him.
Well anyways heres some pics from today

And I HAVE to include these!!!!!
