3 mega-pixel is pretty much what you need min. when taking pictures to post up if you want them to look good. Mega-Pixel's more come into play when you are trying to make the picture LARGER, like if you want to make a poster or something for your house. So you won't really notice the difference between a 3mega-pixel and a 7 mega-pixel on normal size pictures like that.
