RTT "mod" is done and its on the car.
Acquired vinyl sheets and drew on my "design"

repeated 2 more times

Then lots of cutting out, trimming, and patience

Couple before/after pics

And they are not going to offer the 2.5l with a 6 speed manual, meh.

Thinking manual may go away completely, despite them having it in many models currently, or it will remain only for the lower models. My g/f's family picked up a OBXT and I got to drive it. It only comes with the CVT too, but it actually felt pretty good. If that ends up in the crosstrek I'd definitely buy it. I really like the OBXT, but it is bigger than I need. I have the STI and don't intend to get rid of it anytime soon, so I'll still have something to shift

Ive actually never owned an automatic for any of MY personal cars, wife has an auto haha. I think my next car will be an auto for commuting, traffic is only getting worse and worse out here. Then the Crosstrek will become the weekend car.

When I was going to work, the STI was Fri + weekend car and the wagon was commuter. My significant other can't drive manual so she can't drive either of my cars. She has a Lexus hybrid so we use that on long trips to SoCal, etc...due to mileage savings, but it is a sedan can't haul much - STI has a bigger trunk lol. I DON'T want an automatic and haven't owned one since I was 17
, but I would like something simpler during the commute too.
The latest model of STI (the last of current gen?) came only Auto as well.... They want eyesight in all models, necessitating the CVT.

Sad to see manuals going away
Wife knows how to drive stick, but it is usually years between her actually doing so lol. She never wanted to drive the STi before I sold it. She drove my civic commuter a few times, and had not driven the Crosstrek yet. Ball is in her court whenever she wants to haha.

I was impressed with the OBXT. At normal throttle it feels like any other Outback, but when you mash it, it actually goes. It is quicker and tourquier than the 3.6R, but still no STI.

Yesterday leaving work, I picked up some lunch and decided to pop the tent to eat.

A few people have asked me if the rear hatch still opens, and it does! Since this is such a large tent, you just have to have it slid forward. Basically our heads will be at the back of the car and our feet will overhang the windshield so there is less weight on that end.

Changing up the front end a bit. Decided to remove the original yellow Lamin-x film on the fog lights and LED light bar.
Fog lights are easy, can just pop off the plastic surounds off the bumper and boom, done. The light bar... I had to remove the front bumper to get at it. LUCKILY I did not need to remove the Primitive skid pan, or my custom bumper guard. First time removing the bumper with both of those on.

Some before/after shots

The new amber will tie in with another new part, that should be here today. Its new, but not really "new" as its replacing something ive already done.

Looks good. I didn't put covers on my fogs this time. They're domed so they're hard to do and LaminX doesn't sell the precuts for the GD anymore. I put in yellow LEDs though.
