I've been a long time lurker here, like the previous guy posting his '06, but decided to post my new purchase. I used to have an '01 2.5 RS, but I was looking to trade it in on an upgrade, and looking at the pictures I really hated the new look Subaru was going with. My dealer was looking frantically to secure me a new black '05 STi, but there were none to be had in about 15 states surrounding me. He called me last week and said they just got an '06 in, and I should come take a look. Incredibly skeptical about if I would like it, I drove up to give it a shot, and in-person, the car is absolutely beautiful. The new design really does look a lot different in person than in most pictures, certainly different than the promotional ones from Subaru, at least to me. Maybe its the black that dulls down the edges a bit as opposed to the blue, but regardless, 5 hours after it rolled off the truck last Wednesday, it was mine, although I had to wait till Thursday so that they could inspect it

Umm, I think it is probably just the pics, but your interior looks like it is all black ie: the silver trim on the vents and the center console.

I am not referring to the blue being gone, but the silve trim pieces. (however, I am sure it is just the photos)

 

I Saw a WRB Sti Last friday, it does look much different in person. Congrats

 

I love the new front end, much easier on my eyes. Maybe I'll move on from my bug eye...

 

i think the front would look so much better if the fog covers 'sti' stickers were taken off. i dunno, that's just me, 3 'sti' logos in the front seem a bit too extreme for my taste.

 

Nice! Cant wait to see what crazy aero kits the japanese will come up for it.

 

Rear end is a little too FastandFurious for my taste. Front end looks good though, but I have to agree with dFunk on those logos...

 

front is really growing on me. i would buy some sort of 05 taillights though. besides that pretty car congrats

 

i think the best part of the car has to be the projectors.

 

I must say, the 06 actually looks good in black.

 

those rear lights have got to go....totally Fast & Furious.
