i love the springs, ride quality is good. bouncy here and there, but im assuming its from the stiffness of the sti struts.

as far as height, its a decent drop. i didnt want anything too low cuz i can never get anywhere when i slammed my old wrx and had a front lip. i scraped everywhere, so these springs give it a nice drop with enough room to get over speed bumps and driveways.

overall, cant be any happier.

so heres the scoop:

i bought the car 8 months ago from capitol. i started hearing noises from inside the cabin after normal daily driving. I took the car over to capitol subaru to have it inspected. the techs mentioned there was nothing wrong with the car which i found odd. About 2 months down the line, im still hearing the same noises, so i decided to take it over the Speed Element. they found out my steering rack bushings were ripped, so they replaced those.

Few months pass and im still hearing that stupid noise...

About a month or so ago im STILL hearing the same noise but now it sounded like a grinding noise which became more annoying. On top of that I also noticed that my ABS light would constantly stay on and that my DCCD switch would act up in the "Auto" position. It would all of a sudden drop down to the rear of the car and the light would blink. i took it over to GST to have Tommy and Mert take a look at it. Mert took it around the block and heard the same noises i was hearing. He played around with the DCCD and came to a verdict that it could be my center differential... my worst fear. They put it on the lift and found yet another problem and that my rear end links were bent. I replaced those with whiteline endlinks but still the noise was STILL there.

I had AHQ take a look at it after talking to Bryan at the Bubble meet one Friday night. Kevin took it around the block again and also mentioned the problem could be my center differential. I was starting to believe that this would need to be replaced but i couldnt justify paying the amount for all of the parts.

So just recently, i decided to take the car to the good guys at LIC and Adam took the car around the shop and the same grinding noise was heard throughout the shop. Adam finally concluded that the niose wasnt the center diff, but was due to a bad wheel bearing and hub, this was why the ABS light was constantly on. My driver rear bearing and hub was where the noise was coming from. My wheel was literally about to fall off. Noah was surprised that i made it all the way from home to Novato without my wheel falling off: that was scary to hear. Anyways, LIC replaced the bad bearing and hub and the car feels MUCH MUCH better.

i called Capitol the otehr day and told them the whole story from the day everything went wrong so now im just waiting for their call back.

SE/ GST/ AHQ/ LIC: thanks for taking the time to look at my car
Capitol: hope to hear from you soon

Freakin Dealerships!

I swear our local shops are so much better than the "certified dealership shops." Hope the dealership didn't charge you to look over your car.
