why is that car, about 40 seconds in on that video, why are his tires sparking? Does he have studs on or somehting?

why are the dudes tires sparking is because the tires are bald and steel is showing through.... i have seen this many times with japanese drifters and american drifters,,,, all they want to do is keep drifting on the tires until the blown out.
