WTT: Stoptech ST-40 5x100 trade for your STi brembo
I have some Stoptech ST-40 328x28 front only in black calipers for trade.
I need some STi brembos + cash. Cash is easily negotiable.
Condition:
7/10
Color on caliper has faded a bit.
They bite hard still.
Rotor and pad are still over 70%.
INSTALL needs to be performed at a reputable local shop in the Bay Area.
These brakes are currently on my car right now.
You cover the labor for both of the swaps and we can work out how much cash to be added on top.
Will come with:
(2) Stoptech ST-40 black calipers
(2) 2 Piece Floating Hat & Rotor, they are slotted.
(2) SS lines
(2) Almost Brand new Caliper Adapter Mounting Brackets. (300 miles on it)
(2) Performance Street Brake Pads

^^ Your legacy makes almost 400whp!! Holy ****! Don't the 08's have the EJ255? Dam, I'm just blown away by that
Bump for OP, I love my stoptechs, Awsome brakes!

Seem to recall they'll clear _some_ 16" wheels, definitely will clear most 17's.
OP, you might want to consider leaving the lines in-place, and just swapping the calipers (and rotors/brackets). There's not much difference between one braided line and another, and will save ~15 minutes. That said, you may want to include dust shields on the swap, since (assuming yours are mounted) will probably have been banged out to clear the rotor, saving the new buyer some PITA work.
In terms of saving on labor, etc., removing the rotor and caliper is fairly easy, and no real risk of damage to anything, assuming proper torque specs are followed (i.e. the banjo bolt isn't over-torqued 2x.) The "hardest" part is re-bleeding. You could do a quick bleed in the driveway, and then drive to a local shop re-bleed to make sure all the air is out, and get the pedal back to full firmness.

To the OP LGTMark has very good hands when it comes working with cars. I don't think shop installation would be necessary if they know what they are doing and Mark definitely does. GLWT!!!
These calipers stop cars on a dime. Bump!

LGT Mark, I would like $500 on top of the trade.
Note there seems to be a cricketing noise when the brakes are fully compressed. You can hear it for yourself before we go on with the trade. The caliper and rotors seem to be fine, they bite hard, the caliper doesn't leak and when I was bleeding the system, it was normal. So if you don't mind the cricketing sound, it's like new honestly.
I believe my dust shield no longer exist. Lol.
***Update to this***
I just called Stoptech explaining the noise, they confirmed it is nothing wrong with the caliper. They did suggest I check my wheel bearings and perhaps the rotor's drive pin. So if any interested parties are interested, I can follow up on this in the coming days.
