WTT: Apexi GT-Spec for..

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get rid of my Apexi GT-Spec because it's a little too loud for my taste, and get something a little bit more quiet and stockish, so I'm looking to trade straight up for the following exhausts:

Stromung 3inch Catback
Borla catback (hopefully with 3inch adapter)
Perrin Twin-Tip catback
Vishnu twin-tip catback
...you get the point

Here's a pic of the exhaust:

will this fit an 02 wagon?

Have a Borla Hush mated to a helix catted down pipe. Possibly interested.
Would have to discuss more once I get back to California this Saturday.

Yes, this will fit perfectly on a wagon. This exhaust is currently mated to a helix downpipe on my car as well.

I live in 93901 (Salinas, CA)

Where would you be willing to meet at? Any ideas how much a shop would charge for the swap out?

No need for a shop to do the swap. We can do it together, or if you want I could probably just do it by myself but it would take a little bit more time. It's really easy, takes ~20min per car to take off and install an exhaust.

Very interested, but if someone else gets with you sooner no problem.
I'll be back in California on Saturday. Maybe meet first weekend of December?

Would want to do new gaskets, is there anyplace near you that you could pick them up at?

As far as new gaskets go, you could pick them up at Gruppe-S, they're pretty cheap. I'll be sticking with the one I have as I've replaced it only a couple months ago. I will be back from San Diego (from college) on the first week of December (Dec 7th I believe), so that will be perfect timing.

I also wanted to ask you. Do you have the 3inch adaptor for your Borla Hush, so that it can connect directly to your helix downpipe?

Sounds good.
Will call Gruppe-S for the gaskets and try and have them prior to meeting.

The hush has a pipe welded to it that bolts up to the helix catted downpipe. I am not 100% sure but think that is the adaptor you are asking about. (the car had been set up with the exhaust when I bought it. The pipe is a little narrower than the borla's pipe, and slides inside the borla pipe. Has been tack welded about 2/3 the way around.

Tack welded around? Is there any leaking going on? Could you maybe take a picture of the adapter piece that's welded in?

Thank you,

Oleg

Oleg,

Will take pics tomorrow and post them up. Pretty sure there is no leaks that would affect performance. The exhaust came apart on me once at the one tack weld that the previous owner had holding it together.

I took it to a muffler shop and the ran a weld 2/3 round the diameter of the exhuast. Haven't had any problems with it since.

In the first pic the weld is just to the left of the bolts.

The rest of the pics are to show the condition of the muffler.
It is a dirty bastage, but is solid

I ordered the exhaust gasket, no big deal if you decide not to do the swap, good to have on hand just incase.

Let me know.

Marc
